I have not blogged for along long time… I have been sluffing, big time, when you sluff, stuff dont get done…right?? So…. no more sluffing, my girls, have said…Flo…. find that MOJO!!! So here we go, on my last couple of days in Mexico, trying to find it back!! There’s been ups, and downs, and go arounds, but for now, we are going to squeek another year, into trying to help Kick Cancer to the Curb, once again. Although we dont make our goals as before, it is my fault mostly….I need to find enthusiasm and remember why we are doing it.

Doesn’t matter how many people ride how much we raise, the meer fact, we are trying, helping along the  way, putting smiles on peoples faces that need it, building friendships along the way, and seeing the country. What better vacation can you have, ride… smile… help.. and build friendships.  Come ride with us!!! CONGA NUMBER 6!!! More updates shortly!!

From a Conga III Rider

OMG! What happened to the Conga spirit?? It saddens me to look at the Conga for the cause group. After joining in at the beginning of Conga III, I ran home every night anxious to see what happened while I was at work. All the fundraisers that went on for months before the meet in Cheyenne. The smiling faces, the stories of survivors, the women fighting for their life, the prayers and the many many cyber hugs. We became a family united for the cause and the money poured in. I could hardly wait for July to get here so I could make that trip to meet the awesome women and men that I become such good friends with via FB. One by one you all show up and it’s like seeing an old friend climb off a motorcycle with the biggest smile and waiting for hugs.

The pics are fabulous and you all did a good job but what happened to the spirit and the love for each other? I know I haven’t been there in person, one week isn’t enough time to go all the way to Shell and my personal funds wouldn’t support the trip but the reason is still there and breast cancer is still a killer so get over whatever it is that’s going on, stop the drama, Keep track of the funds and post how much money was raised and where it went and start planning for Conga VI. It’s not about you, it’s about kicking cancer to the curb..

What happened she asks!!

I have no idea.. I really don’t know what this person is talking about  honestly..From the bottom of my heart… I feel/ felt, the love, the spirit, the camaraderie of this Conga more than ever. I knew it was different. I had lost my mojo, from the get go.

2 years agoI moved to a new town, and had no one to help me fundraise. I didn’t want to do it myself, and I didn’t. I felt guilty as hell, but couldn’t bring myself to do it. I lost my mojo for sure. But… the Conga had to go on, even if it were going to be the last one! It was becoming too much for me, although it was my fault. Year 5 and the Conga still owed me money from all the t-shirts, koosies, shot glasses, bandannas, bracelets etc that I had purchased to make the Conga work. My goal was to take a little back at a time, so we could all see the fundraising reach its goal faster. There was no money in the bank so to speak, we didn’t keep money aside, it was never even discussed. I am not sure where people thought the money came from. I just believed, they trusted me as they always had done before. When we had sales on  the silent auctions and the money went to my pay pal, I would then deduct more off what the Conga owed me. Finally this year, we are square.

This year was different, yes… less money, more love… We saw some of our local friends in the Shell and Greybull area,  stricken with cancer. We went to the Cancer Clinic, as hard as it was, we did it.. I ran.  Biird stayed… I saw her tuck in Jims feet under the blanket, tuck them in, kiss them, smile with him, what does Flobee do?? Run!!  I couldn’t handle it.. Love.. it was there.. it was in the air.. but you weren’t there, so how dare you, say… where is the love and the Spirit!

There were people from Shell, and Greybull, that had given, their heart and sole, their money, their hair, their things, to help donate in any way they could. Time, and efforts and gifts, more than you could ever imagine. People bidding against each other, just to up the anty, to make more money for the cause. I for one was bidding against a coat, that Lori donated, only for the winning bidder, to turn around and give it back to me…. Love.. yes it was there.  Again, my fault, that I did not keep on top of my blog.

Wilbur giving his pink hair, to the upcoming young Wilbur, who worked his lil butt off with his sister, to help raise money for the cause. Wow, I could go on and on and on to tell you how much love and less money was donated, for the Conga V

OMG..Karen of all people, handles it so damn well. She is out their passing out her love and her strength in every waking moment. She pops in when she is needed with out even knowing she is needed, like when…

Natalie’s friend from Canada, breakss down, and admit, she had the same type of cancer as Biird… You wanna see love…it was fucking there… she wanted to curl right up in the fetal position and cry, Then she met Biird…   She  was so thankful, and told me me how much this journey meant to her. She thanked me of all people, and said Biird was her newest and best friend, and the only person, she could really relate to. This chick, rocks, rides a cool bike with ape hangers, and I am sure she will be on the next Conga, if for nothing else but to connect with our Biird.

One other piece of love, and spirit I will never forget… The dear love of our friend Boots… yes.. Debbie Baldwin Payne. One of the main reasons, this Conga V went on wether I felt like doing it or not. We had love.. she was there, not only was Sonny, her best friend Traci Dillard was there, I was there!! People were there, that only knew her on line. It was a ride in memory of our dear Boots.. you didn’t have to meet her in person, to know how special she was.  Marci raised over $800 to have her head shaved in memory of her.. She passed on her birthday… Love… lots of love in Shell and Greybull for the Conga V

By the way… I missed out on every breakfast in Greybull to blog, while everyone gathered and visited, but I was determined the blog, pics, donations had to be posted, to keep every one informed. It is tiring, very tiring, but I feel it is my job, and this proves it… it has to be done. Do you think I want to?? No, I want someone to take the work away from me,  more than anything the money… I HATE, handling the money more than anything. I did ask a few people if they would take it over, and no one wanted to do it, do to, the fact they are working and it would be an income. Okay so I am not working …so to speak., yah, I work, on the Conga, but non profit, for me, lol

So you all may think we need to go non-profit.. yup, we could do that, the more you spend on it, the less the Conga raises. Not only that, I have no clue how to do it.. Do you?? Would you please help me take this over? We have grown, to where, it is not just friends, getting together, for a good cause and hey take this money and put it on line for me would ya… to… hey you sure you put all that money online that I gave you.

Okay, now we have come to another situation.. the Conga HAS changed… There will be no tshirts, no coosies, no shot glasses, no bracelets, no things to sell to double our money for the cause.. Guess where all the money came from and how many years it took to pay for the items to be paid back, because I was so excited about the money going on line for the cause..

Bottom line… I am asking for help… Yours!! Anyone that can step up to the plate, and help this Conga, keep on kicking Cancer to the curb. Please do!! I am so open to ideas, advice, help!

Great day today, woke up this morning and Sharon had decorated the parking lot and swimming pool all in pink.

David our Cabana boy arrived and told us he has taken 3 days off to be at our  beckon call. Brett who’s house had burned to the ground a few weeks back and is also our support driver stopped by to say hello.

More riders are coming in all the time. The eagle man, from Shell who came up with a big donation last year from the Eagles rode up on a spyder with pink beard and long hair ready for the hair raising event.

Janet Lennox pulled in from Colorado.

Everyone is over having breaky, when they are finished we are making our way to Cody, to the cancer clinic to put some smiles on peoples faces with our pink parade to let them know we care and are out there trying to make a difference.

We plan to hit the streets of Cody to raise some donations too. Then later on in the day, we will head to Shell, to the Antler Inn.

The maing day was uneventful other than the typical weather changes from cooking to death, to getting soaked and nearly blown of the road.We made it safe and sound to Greybull at the Yellowstone Motel.

Sharon Willis and her worker Marsha are taking good care of everyone. Pretty cool welcoming sign too! Thanks Sharon for all you do..

Not alot of fundraising went on, as we didn’t have many stops, dribbles and drabs!

Tracy Bader and her husband Warren are the first ones here. Great to see her. No signs of anyone else yet, but it is early!! We are trying to get organized. All is good!! Not even any pics!! Imagine that!!

Here is Tracy Bader our other Canadian, so there is only Wilbur, Tracy, and me. We were the first to arrive along with Newprincess Di.

Everyone is arriving… Check out the pics on Facebook

Wasn’t long after, in Brittany Morrow arrived and before long in flew the Biird and Steve Nichole.

We went to the Spur Bar which is also Al’s and Brians bar, they have been fundraising for the past few weeks selling our left over koozies, shot glasses tshirts etc. Sharon has handed us an envelope also, the people in the Spur were very generous.

A good time was had by all, now here we have

Flo ,Wilbur, Di, Tracy, Warren, Brittaney, Karen, Steve,  Sonny, Tracy, Tammy, Kristen, Dusty Tamela, Kurtis That is only 14, we have more riders coming in today.

Thanks for going with the Flo!

Had a great evening with my bro and the Newprincess. She is at that a princess. Holy, I feel special, I think something, wether its a pair of glasses, a drink a sweater, then it is there,.. Spoiled!! Enough already, lol

Omg, this is what she made me, can you believe it?? What a surprise! My cuddly blankie, it got sent back home!
We have already down sized our stuff. Dianna called her hubby to come pick up 4 large size packets… Over packed or what!!. We could probably have even sent more.
We got up nice early and were on the road by 7 am!!

That is a record for us I think. We decided we wanted to beat the heat and cover some ground, with still enough stops to do a little fundraising. Speaking of stopping, every time I can to a stop sign, it felt so sloppy. I told Dianna some is wrong, I am not stopping very smooth, guess I am out of practice. When we came around the sharp corner I went to use my back brake but there was none, I got Wilbur to take it for a burn. Prognosis…Let’s find the nearest HD!!

So here we are after an hour still waiting for it to get started. Our day is done. Dianna and Eric are off to find a place to stay. No worries, we will get off to an early start tomorrow to arrive in time to meet everyone that is arriving on Wed.
Just another part of the adventure, hoping it is not too expensive, but it will be what it will be!

okay lil update…4 hours in the dang HD… Sheesh, the clutch cable, wore a whole in the brake line. I tell ya, I have  never seen anything like it, 5 guys standing, gawking about the bike, admiring it, and talking about  the Road Queen emblem they had never seen. Shyte!! So anyhoo, we are not happy campers at the moment, well now we are, but then we were’t. Especially we got caught in a thunder, lightning and wind storm off to the  hotel. So here we are in Bute tonight, praying for good weather and an early uneventful day tomorrow. The Conga IS COMING…. Shell tomorrow!!!!! Need to get on with the fundraising, the first couple days not going so well and now we are in a rush to get to Shell….It will be what it will be… love ya all, thanks for Going with the Flo!!
Tune in tomorrow

Beautiful start to the day, clear skies, not too hot! Decided I was going to hit the highway at 9am… I was ready by 7:30 but had told my neighbors who were going to take care of my baby 9 am. I called them and told them 8:30. My other neighbours across the street yelled out… What time ya leaving Flo?? So any hoo, I had company to send me off on my way on this beautiful day…

My mojo was starting to come back. How sweet it was, they even brought me my first donation tied up  in a little pink ribbon! Off I went, kinda sniffing my way back to reality!!

I got to the boarder, they got quite a kick of the bike, asked a few questions and was on my way, feathers flying behind me. The crappy part was the road was under construction for quite a ways.  It didn’t take long and the horns were starting to  honk, people passing by, and I could see them taking videos. Before, i got to the turn off to Colville, I had this vehicle pass me.  Then not to far down the road, they pulled over. I could see they were filming me. When I got to the stop sign, one of the gals yells, out and says… you have the coolest bike I have ever seen,, can I have a picture please.. Well ya’ll know what that meant, it would cost them.. They made a generous donation, took lots of pics, said I had made their day. They had just made mine. I now knew I was on the Conga and the Mojo was returning.

Next stop Walmart to meet Newprincess!! Get my nails done, go visit Robs aunt Dorothy in the seniors home. That took all of 5 minutes as time means nothing to her, but was she ever proud when we walked into the lunch room.. “There is my  pink lady” Dear sweet Dorothy only knows me as the pink lady.

Off we went to Dianna’s house to get the rest of her stuff, we were only an hour from hooking up wit Wilbur…My Bro!!

There he was, showing me his new pipes, lighter sounding. I said wow that was nice of Carl to sell ya those. Still looked like my other bike. Then he says  do you notice any more additions?? I started looking at it, and said, no, but why do the pipes make it look so much bigger??? Dah…. Brother Carl’s bike, so I kinda felt like they are both her with me..

Life is good, we pull in, to the Riverbend in Post Falls, they remember us from the last 3 years. Gave us a screamin deal on the room. Bro does his Cabana boy duties, kick back relax.. Too funny we are already sending shit back home as we brought way too much stuff.

Thats all for now folks, didn’t raise a lot of money, but… we are just getting started!!!
